The Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems GhIPSS has in collaboration with Clydestone brought in 20 new e-zwich compliant ATMs for deployment at vantage points in the country.
These ATMs will accept any e-zwich card irrespective of the financial institution that issued it.
There are currently four of such ATMs in operation – the National Investment Bank (NIB) head office in Accra and branch at Osu. The rest are on the campuses of the Cape Coast University and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Officials of GhIPSS say the process is underway to install one at the University of Ghana.
Meanwhile, the organisation is working with ATM dealer, NCR to reconfigure its existing ATMs to be e-zwich compliant.
When this is done, bank customers can access cash from any ATM at all.
