Government is set to begin the roll-out of the National Rental Assistance Scheme to help Ghanaians acquire decent homes.
The project will be a partnership between the government and the private sector with a GH¢100 million capital.
According to Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, who presented the 2021 budget to parliament, the scheme will help eligible Ghanaians pay their rent in advance thereby reducing the financial burden that comes with acquiring a home.
“Mr. Speaker, in partnership with the private sector, we will commence the establishment of a National Rental Assistance Scheme (NRAS), with a seed of GH¢100 million”, he said.
“The scheme will crowd-in additional investment from the private sector, to provide low-interest loans to eligible Ghanaians to enable them pay rent advance”, he noted.
