A 38-year-old man, Mohammed, is the third person to die in the flood that hit parts of Kumasi recently.
Mohammed lost his life when he attempted to cross the Owabi River at Atafoa, which had overflown its banks.
According to sources, the rushing water pushed his motorbike into the river, leading to his demise. His body was found on Thursday and buried immediately according to Islamic tradition.
Another victim, a 53-year-old mother of three, Akosua Dufie was confirmed dead after she was swept away by floodwaters at Anloga-Susuakyi in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The body of the second-hand clothing dealer was retrieved on Friday morning by a search party, about 500 meters from the scene in the Susuan stream.
The incident occurred at about 5pm when the deceased was a few minutes away from home.
Madam Dufie is the second person to die in the Kumasi floods this week, after a two-year-old boy, Mohammed Awal, was swept away under similar circumstances at Sawaba.
Angry residents have given a two-week ultimatum to the government to respond to their concerns or they will march to the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly to demand immediate action.
