At least nine people are confirmed dead in a cholera outbreak at Atebubu in Brong Ahafo Region in just a week with several others infected.
According to the District Chief Executive, Sanja Nanja the first case was recorded in May but the situation became worse about a week ago.
He told Joy News a District Security Council meeting was held with the various stakeholders to work out ways of curbing the outbreak to avert further deaths.
Mr Nanja said about a 100 people had so far contracted the disease.
He said task-force has been created to do cholera sensitisation to educate the people on how to avoid contracting the disease.
He said some of the measures include suspension of funerals where people usually eat and drink contaminated foods and water.
