Plastic surgeons working on a 9-year-old girl whose hand was literally boiled by her stepmother are considering getting psychological help for her.
This decision come after the girl has spent close to two months on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital in Kumasi.
Little Stephanie has recently been expressing concerns over the state of her hand after series of surgeries have been undertaken in an attempt to give life to her left hand.
The suspect, a female teacher at Goaso dipped Stephanie's hands in boiling water for taking her ¢2 without permission.
Ellen Serwaa, the teacher, was also accused of managing the injury at home in the Ahafo regional town of Goaso for days until the child’s hand deteriorated before seeking medical help for Stephanie.
Management of Mensin Gold Bibiani Mining Limited who have since adopted the girl, today met the surgical team to discuss more advanced ways of promoting her recovery.
According to Luv FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor, the surgeons are deliberating on ways to get psychological support even as Stephanie goes through the medical process.
