Have we made a choice to play games with our safety and security in Ghana? Just the past three days alone, up to 50 people have lost their lives through road accidents of all types.
Now if you are tempted to stray towards partisan politics, STOP reading this!
The problems is this: we must have the leaders take full responsibility for our safety. This means that they must PREVENT us from doing reckless acts on the roads. They must STOP us from disobeying traffic rules and regulations. They must make sure that we do not go where we should not - for our own safety. That is their job. Everywhere in the world, if you leave people to do what they want, chaos results - we are not worse than Japanese, British, Americans, Koreans, etc. They have institutions and leaders who take steps to enforce discipline through use of the law.
We must all work together to hold our leaders accountable - whoever they may be from year to year. It gets too depressing to read day after day people being killed on our roads and no one takes responsibility. No one seems to care. We have wrapped ourselves with politics so the leaders escape responsibility.
We cannot go on like this forever!
