The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) says effective January 2, 2019, only customers who provide Tax Identification Number (TIN) will have their vehicles registered.
It forms part of its requirements as it prepares to roll out electronic registration of vehicles from the beginning of the new year.
The Authority has, therefore, directed vehicle owners who wish to have their vehicles registered in 2019, to begin the process on its e-platform between Monday, December 3 and the 31.
“Customers are advised to provide their Tax Identification Numbers (TIN) which is a pre-requisite for the registration process,” the DVLA indicated in a statement issued Friday, November 30.
According to the statement signed by Public Relations Manager, Francis Asamoah Tufuor the directive “is to ensure that the time spent to have vehicles registered is reduced drastically and to prevent overcrowding” at the premises.
