The CIMG Marketing Women Network, a group of past and present CIMG Marketing Women of the Year award winners in partnership with UN Women, UNIC, CEGENSA and Ark Foundation Student Workshop on Gender-Based Violence have met at the YIRI Lodge, University of Ghana, Legon, for a workshop to commemorate the International Women’s Day celebration.
With the aim to give back to the society through mentoring and nurturing of women, the group organized this workshop to educate women on issues that affect them and show them practical ways to overcome these issues in order to make women more confident and grow to become responsible leaders.
Among topics discussed were women’s empowerment, women’s leadership, domestic violence, physical, sexual, economic, cultural, traditional and social abuse and myths of domestic violence.
The CIMG Marketing Women Network targets women in the corporate world, middle level women, students in second and third cycle, and women in the market place.
Their main objective is to impact the lives of women through nurturing, mentoring, advocacy and facilitation programmes that would help women to achieve success.
As part of programmes to achieve its objective, the group will visit second cycle schools to speak to young ladies and guide them in making decisions concerning their career and general development.
