Police have opened investigations into the death of the Marketing and Public Affairs Manager of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Mrs Josephine Asante.
The Afienya police have said Mrs Asante was found stabbed to death on Sunday dawn at her residence at Emef Estate in Afienya near Tema.
The 49-year-old mother was said to be living in her house with her son and a houseboy at the time of the incident.
Superintendent Charles Asiamah Agyei, Afienya Police Commander, told Joy News the scene of the gory incident has been cordoned off and heavy armed police personnel deployed to the residence to prevent disruption of the possible crime scene.
The late Mrs Asante was found in a pool of blood in her bedroom Sunday dawn.
Her 12-year-old boy called for help when he woke up and found the mother motionless not responding to calls to wake up.
Police indicate no valuables were picked by the alleged killers.
The body has since been deposited at the police morgue.
Mrs Josephine Asante was very instrumental in organising a dinner dance and party for her colleague's senior staff Saturday before she was allegedly killed.
