The Pride of the North are optimistic they will continue to remain in the domestic top flight by the time it ends despite garnering a woeful five points from 20 games.
Real Tamale United coach Roberto Carlos is passionately calling on fans of the club to rally behind the team in its battle to survive relegation this season.
The Pride of the North are currently rooted at the foot of the Ghana Premier League log with a doleful five points and yet to win a game in the 20-week-old league.
The team has a great deal of work to do in the remaining 10 matches of the league if they are to avoid the drop this season.
However, their Ukrainian coach who took over the team in the second half of the season is still hopeful of pulling the Pride of the North out of relegation at the end of the term. He admitted that the side is currently going through some delicate moment both on and off pitch.
“We are not going to give up until the last second of the season. Mathematically speaking we still have a very good chance of coming out of the relegation zone, however, the element of courage and consistency must be displayed in 90 minutes in our remaining matches,” the 50-year-old tactician told GBC Sports.
“RTU is currently going through a very difficult period of time not only on the pitch of play but also out of the pitch of play. So I am calling on the players, management and the supporters to stay together and I am sure with the return of some of the senior players from injuries, we can maintain our premiership status come the end of the season,” Carlos noted.
