Ghana Football Association Technical Director Oti Akenteng says criticisms against the Black Starlets must stop despite their shaky start to their African U17 championship in Morocco.
The Black Starlets began the tournament with an embarrassing 6-1 defeat to Nigeria in their opening group B game last Sunday.
Coach Paa Kwasi Fabin who admitted of being shocked at the defeat has received a lot of bashing from some soccer fans.
With a second Group B fixture against Congo on Wednesday, Ex Ghana coach Oti Akenteng who is now the technical director of the Ghana FA wants supporters to calm down and continue offering support to the team.
"We should not at this point cut them off and criticize their performance too much because all the bashing here I’m sure will be communicated to them by relatives which I believe will not help them," he told Joy sports.
"I think we should not emphasize on only winning because this is under 17 and the idea FIFA brought was not only based on winning but to develop our players.
"I will plead that we also take into consideration the developmental aspect of it."
