Sportsfilla.com understands that sports broadcast journalist Kofi Appiah has emerged as one of two major contenders for the now vacant Public and Supporter relations manager position at reigning Premier League champions Asante Kotoko.
According to our well-placed sources, Appiah, who works as a sports analyst at Kumasi-based radio station Metro FM, has already had some dealings with Asante Kotoko chief Dr. K.K. Sarpong and his conduct is said to have catapulted him into consideration for the position.
Sportsfilla.com understands that Appiah, previously with Accra-based radio stations Asempa FM and Channel R, will face an uphill task for the position because he is a relative newcomer compared to the other major contender, Thomas Boakye Agyemang.
Footy-ghana.com has learnt that Agyemang, who is widely regarded as favorite for the position, will finish his studies at the Ghana Law School in three months’ time and the delay in appointing him could let in Appiah, a graduate of Achimota School and the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
