The venue for the much awaited international bout between Ghana’s Emmanuel Tagoe and his counterpart from Philippines Ronald Pontillas has been shifted from the Lebanon House to the Accra Sports Stadium.
Organisers for the bout, Baby Jet Promotions say the shift in venue is to accommodate the increasing number of spectators who have shown interest in the bout.
The Tagoe-Pontilla bout, scheduled on Friday April 26, is the second bout to be staged by Baby Jet Promotions, owned by Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan.
Already, Emmanuel ‘Game Boy’ Tagoe has intensified his work out and training regime for what will arguably be one of the biggest bouts of his career.
He takes on Pontilla for the WBA International/WBO Africa Super Featherweight Championship and it will be over 12 Rounds.
Chief Executive Officer of the Asamoah Gyan Foundation, Samuel Anim Addo told Myjoyonline.com rigorous programmes have been lined up to ensure the success of the bout.
The Filipino is expected to arrive in Ghana on April 22 and will meet the media on Wednesday April 24. He is also expected to have his seconds out at the gym before the official weigh-in ceremony on April 25.
According to Anim Addo, on Sunday April 21, the various boxers on the bill will meet their fans as well as Vits Noodles, title Sponsors of the event at Bukom, the home of boxing in Ghana.
He said the various boxers will engage in shadow boxing and exhibit their skills and readiness for the bout on Friday April 26.
