The President of the Ghana Football Association Kwasi Nyantakyi says his outfit is keen on organizing a league for colts clubs across the country next season.
The Ghana federation in their attempt to develop the Colts football system has opened a five-day coaches training program in Accra.
This programme forms part of the FA's policy of equipping coaches to help refine talents at the grassroots.
This will be followed with a nationwide Colts league supervised by the Ghana FA.
"We have decided to place a sealing on the number of colts clubs that we can have in each region," said Nyantakyi in an interview with Joy sports
"Apart from Greater Accra, Ashanti and Brong Ahafo region which have very large colts clubs the rest of the regions will have a sealing of twelve clubs per region then the three regions I have mentioned will have 24 and this will be called the premier division colts clubs.
"At this level they will be relegation and promotion each year for others to get the opportunity to break in and others to leave the scene.
"The GFA will be in the position to offer the needed support by way of payment of officiating fees, supply of equipments and other facilities they need so we can really maximize the benefits from these clubs."
There have been calls for a serious and critical development of juvenile football which in the past helped the country discover talents like Mohammed Polo, Abedi Pele just to mention a few.
