Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has reiterated his desire to have the Ayew brothers in his team for June’s 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The Ghana FA has been holding talks with Andre and Jordan who resigned from the Black Stars two months ago following their exclusions from the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. The unhappy Olympique Marseille duo made accusations against the GFA in separate letters and requested to take temporary breaks from international football. But their resignations were rejected and the sons of Ghana legend Abedi Pele were told to reconsider the decisions. There is still no word from either the Ghana FA or the players but Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah can’t wait to have them back. “They are two great players and every national coach would want to have them around,” Appiah told the BBC “It is important that every good Ghanaian player comes on board to help the nation. “It is unfortunate that they have written to us to say they want to step back. After they wrote to us, we wrote back and said we didn’t accept their decision – we sill need them. “We said we would give them time and we are still talking and we hope they will come back to help.” Ghana will play Sudan on 7 June in Khartoum and then travel to Maseru to face Lesotho the following week in the Group D qualifiers. The 2010 FIFA World Cup quarter-finalists are second in the pool with six points; one point behind Zambia.
