Robert Sackey has been sacked as Ghana’s Female Under-20 coach following an appraisal of his tenure.
The US-based trainer has been relieved off the post after the Black Princesses performed poorly at the 2012 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Japan.
Sackey led the Ghanaian female team to their worst World Cup campaign where they failed to win a game, failed to score and conceded six goals to make a first round exit.
“I have received an official email confirming my dismissal as the coach of the team,” Sackey said on Asempa FM’s Sports Night show.
“I have no grudge with anybody.I was given a job and the authorities feel my output was not good enough and so I’m in America focusing on my job here.
“A lot of things happen but I will reveal the issues in due course.
“The FA has informed me they are making frantic effort to settle my outsanding arrears. It runs into several months.
“I will come home in June to take my money. I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve my nation.
Sackey claims he has not been paid for 10-months.
