Berekum Chelsea's title aspirations remains on track after they defeated Tema Youth 2-1 at the Golden City Park on Wednesday in the Premiership. The victory sees Chelsea open a three-point lead at the summit with close contenders, Asante Kotoko and Medeama lying second and third after dropping two points apiece. Goals from Jackson Owusu and Obed Owusu in either half was enough for Chelsea as Moses Odjer scored in between both goals. With five more matches to go, the lead by Chelsea will be a big boost as they attempt to pull away from the teams below in the Glo Premier League standing. Asante Kotoko are now lagging three points behind the top of the Glo Premier League after drawing goalless with Medeama in Kumasi on Sunday. The Porcupine Warriors were looking to break down Medeama and maintain their one point deficit between them and leaders, Berekum Chelsea. But the result at the Baba Yara Stadium sees them three points adrift the top and joint-second with Medeama with five matches to go. For Kotoko, a successive title defence appears tough to accomplish each passing match day. In Cape Coast, Dwarfs continued with their impressive run, defeating King Faisal 3-1. Bright Lukman got a brace with Francis Atuquaye scoring the other goal before Faisal scored their consolation from the spot. Wa All Stars could only draw 0-0 with New Edubiase as they slip to eighth on the log. At the Len Clay Stadium, AshantiGold brushed aside Heart of Lions 3-2. Leading striker Mohammed Yakubu scored a brace as Mumuni Shaffiu got the opener. Bernard Morrison scored both goals for Lions. Berekum Arsenal after drawing first blood at the Carl Reindorf Park through Raphael Obeng could not stand Liberty Professionals' fightback as Daniel Kordie and Ebenezer Assifauh scored for the home in their 2-1 win.
