The substantive hearing of the Presidential Election Petition enters Day 16 today with the lead Counsel of the third Respondent Tsatsu Tsikata expected to argue a motion seeking leave of the court to cross-examine three witnesses for the petitioners whose evidence have come by affidavits. Tsikata would have to advance a compelling reason why the three, two MPs and polling officer must be brought into the dock to answer questions on their affidavits. The petitioners have hinted they will contest the decision by Tsikata to cross-examine the witnesses. The court will therefore hear arguments and counter arguments by the Respondents and Petitioners on the motion and rule on it before the cross-examination of the second petitioner would continue today.
