The mother of the conjoined twins delivered at the Central Regional Hospital yesterday has refused to accept the children.
The 16 year old who is said to be traumatised is yet to even see her children.
The two girls who are joined in the chest have one heart and share one sex organ.
Doctors have advised against any attempts to separate them.
The social welfare department in the region is persuading the mother to accept the babies.
