Four people have been confirmed dead and 80 others seriously injured in a fatal accident today at Yipala in the Central Gonja District of the Northern Region.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital mortuary.
The injured are also receiving treatment at the same hospital.
Some of the victims said the driver fell asleep and veered off the road, hitting a tree.
Speaking to the journalists at the hospital, Northern Regional Minister Bede Zeideng expressed concern about speed on our roads.
Mr. Zeideng also promised to give about 70 student mattresses and blankets to support the hospital cope with the numbers.
