The audit of the pink sheet exhibits by International Accounting firm KPMG has been temporarily suspended.
It follows protests by officials of the first and third respondents that the process has been compromised.
The Deputy Registrar reportedly halted the process following an allegation by members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who are the third respondent in the ongoing Presidential Election Petition that two extra boxes of pink sheet exhibits have been added to the ones originally counted on Thursday.
A member of the NDC legal team Abraham Amaliba claimed the process had been “compromised” and for which the counting must be suspended.
He said the NDC will make an official complaint before the court on Tuesday.
Amaliba suspected the pink sheet exhibits which is currently in the custody of the court's registrar had been tampered with.
He told Kaba, host of Asempa FM's Ekosi Sen programme on Monday that two boxes containing exhibits were added to what was counted on Thursday.
According to him, the NDC representatives in the auditing process noticed the increase in number of boxes and quickly alerted the lead counsel for the third respondent.
He insisted with these new numbers the "process must be stopped."
When asked for specifics as to what the number of boxes were and the new number, Amaliba said he was not present when the suspicions were raised and could therefore not give details.
He said all the respondents witnessed the "anomaly" but he could only speak for the NDC as well as the president.
Abraham Amaliba is proposing that a new pink sheet exhibits in the custody of any of the judges is now used for the audit.
A member of the petitioners' legal team Gloria Akkufo has expressed surprise at the turn of events.
"Where did the two extra boxes come from," she asked in a reaction on Joy News.
