John Boadu has sent a sharp reply to Dr Wereko Brobby (Tarzan) that no good scientist would use a sample size of one to make a generalisation of when polling agents were trained prior to the December 2012 polls.
John Boadu’s comment is in reaction to claims by Dr Brobby on Asempa FM that the party leadership is to blame for their defeat in the December 2012 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
John Boadu, a Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), said he heard Dr Brobby saying he [Dr Brobbey] called one of the NPP polling agents who informed him that he [polling agent] was trained the night before general elections.
But speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo Friday, John enquired from Dr Brobby how an “engineer” would use a report from only one person to make general conclusions on the matter.
Reacting further to Tarzan’s assertions, he said in the build up to the December general elections, it was on 5th December (two days to the elections) that all the parties made “firm decisions” about how the elections would proceed - based on which Dr Afari Gyan, Chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC), issued a press statement.
He said because of the timing of the final decisions, any “serious” party would be moving round and checking on their polling agents to take them through the final arrangements in the elections, claiming that was what happened in the case of the NPP.
According to him, even if final decisions had not been made regarding the elections, it would be proper for the party to ensure polling agents have a hang of the process in the last days.
He said it was during those last hour checks that information about goings on at the various constituencies are gathered by the party.
