The 2012 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, on Tuesday left Ghana with his wife, Rebecca, to the UK for “scheduled engagements including his regular medical check up”.
A statement issued Wednesday by Mr. Herbert Krapa, Nana Addo’s Press Aide said, the NPP leader "will be away for a week".
Nana Akufo-Addo is first petitioner challenging the results of the 2012 presidential elections in which the Electoral Commission declared the National Democratic Congress’ candidate John Dramani Mahama winner.
Other petitioners include vice presidential candidate; Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and National Chairman Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey.
Nana Akufo-Addo rarely misses hearing of the historic case in Court. Hearing of the case enters Day 28 today, Wednesday June 5, 2013.
