President John Mahama will leave Accra today, Wednesday, for London at the invitation of the British Prime Minister, David Cameron. The two leaders are scheduled to hold bilateral talks on Friday at No. 10 Downing Street before joining other heads of state and government at the Lancaster House on Saturday for the G8 Summit on Tax, Trade & Transparency. As part of his itinerary while in the UK, President Mahama will also attend the Trooping the Colour event to mark the official birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, and a Prime Minister's lunch for heads of state attending the G8 summit. President Mahama will also meet with the British Foreign Secretary and deliver a lecture on "Ghana's Democratic Gains, Economic Change and Regional Influence" at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, otherwise known as Chatham House. The president will also grant audience to the All Africa Parliamentary Group from the British House of Commons, the African Diplomatic Corps in the UK and meet with the Ghanaian community in the UK. President Mahama is expected home on Monday July 17.
