A Keta chief has appealed to government to help solve a case of suspected serial murders that is causing fear among residents in the area.
Joy News correspondent, Ivy Setordzi, reported that two people disappeared mysteriously from the Volta regional town in the past one year.
One was found murdered in a bush. The latest is a 80-year old farmer who has gone missing for two weeks now. His daughter-in-law Charlotte Kugblenu says a search mounted by some of the residents remain unfruitful.
She said her father-in-law was last seen at night in the company of a fetish priest.
The Police have arrested one man who is assisting them in their investigations into the matter.
The Dufia of Sasieme in Keta, Torgbui Azialekor, says he is very worried about the situation because the safety of children cannot be guaranteed.
“You could be captured in the home...they will murder you”, he said.
He added that traveling family members abroad who arrive in the town at night were also in danger of being targeted.
He called on government to “take serious action” to assure the people of their security.
