A five day capacity workshop for the coalition of the West Africa Contract Monitoring network has ended in Akosombo.
The workshop was to train participants selected from Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone to monitor procurement and contracting processes and measure outcomes more effectively in their respective countries.
Four officials of the Ghana Anti Corruption Coalition (GACC) represented Ghana at the workshop.
The participants were taken through financial management, procurement as well as monitoring and evaluation processes.
Ms. Esther Cobbah of Stratcomm Africa, Mr. Ben Johnson, a financial management specialist with the World Bank Funded Ghana Commercial Agriculture Project, Mr. Alexander Owusu Akrofi, a procurement specialist as well as Mr. Gilbert Attah- Boakye, a Development and Management Consultant with CICADA Consulting Limited were the resource persons for the workshop.
Participants were greatly impressed with the World Bank funded workshop and were convinced the knowledge acquired from the Workshop will assist appraising procurement processes in their countries.
