Aggrieved workers of Metro TV are calling for the head of the Human Resource Manager of the Accra-based free-to-air television channel.
Samuel Anobaah, Chairman of the Metro TV chapter of the Communications Workers Union of TUC says, management owes them allowances for overtime and holidays.
Workers were seen gathered at the premises agitatingly shouting out their demands. They have vowed not to return until their demands are met.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Midday News,, Mr. Anobaah gave two conditions under which workers will return.
They want a written commitment from management to pay the allowances under a specified time. The Head of HR has not been up to the task, leading to the strike, he says.
The HR must go, he demanded.
The chairman of the Workers Union said despite the strike embarked by the Union, the staff love their work and the station but management should do the right thing.
