The Nii Arde Nkpa Stool Family of Plerno and Kokrobite has spelt out conditions under which prospective land owners can acquire lands at Kokrobite, Langma and Tackieman (Tuba) to avoid any litigation.
Nii Arde Nkpa and Nii Ofei were the signatories to the Koboribte lands between 1976 and 2010. They are deceased now.
A statement issued by the family said land titles obtained from 2010 are invalid without the signatories of four persons namely: Nii Arde Npka, Mantse; Rev. Nii Tackie Tagoe-Head of family; Daniel Nii Arde Tagoe Administrator; amd Nii Arde Ansa II, Kokrobite Dzasetse.
The family has therefore maintained that persons whose documents do not bear the signatures of the above names “are invalid and the victims should come and see the Chiefs and Elders for advice” and “regularisation”.
Persons who have been engaging in re-selling of land have also been advised to put a stop to the practice.
“Surveyors must come for accreditation before they can work on Kokrobite lands. Anyone who disobeys these orders shall be handed over to the Police,” the statement warned.
It further stated: “It must also be put on record that, people should not ascend the traditional throne with the sole aim of selling lands but rather we should have developmental agenda. If chieftaincy is all about selling lands, then we have lost our relevance we must go beyond the selling of lands and add value to the well being of the people. This is what we intend doing at Kokrobite, Langma and Tuba.”
