Police in Kumasi have arrested three more people in connection with the murder of a security man at the Ash-food Court Hotel in Bantama.
The 35-year-old security man, Joe Edusa, was gunned down at the Ash-food Court Hotel in Bantama where he worked. Police immediately arrested one person in connection with the incident.
However, on Wednesday July 10, three suspects were again paraded before the media for having played various roles in the murder of the security man.
According to Nhyira FM’s Ohemeng Tawiah, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander DCOP Augusting Gyenin, identified the three suspects as 21-year-old Prince Adu-Gyamfi, an auto electrician, 21-year-old George Anaba, an aluminium fabricator and 19-year-old Alex Ofusu, a 2013 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) candidate.
Anaba and Adu Gyamfi were arrested at Amanfrom and Abuakwa Manhyia respectively, in the Ashanti Region. Ofosu was however picked up from a hide-out at Kasoa in the Central Region.
Reports say Prince Adu-Gyamfi is alleged to have pulled the trigger that ended Joe Edusa’s life.
George Anaba is said to have sold laptop he stole from the hotel during the shooting, to Michael Dasa who has also been arrested.
A few days after Joe Edusa's death, his father, Rev. Dr. Joe Eyison, an Anglican priest granted an interview to Luv FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor, saying he blamed the situation on systemic failure.
“Nobody can honestly say that we are safer over here. And if you live in a place where in the past three or so weeks this number of killings is going on, it’s a big problem,” Rev Eyison admitted.
He said even though 35-year-old Joe Edusa was his first child, it does not bother him whether the killers are arrested or not.
