Reigning African Footballer of the Year, Yaya Toure, has been named Ivory Coast player of the 2012/2013 season, while Didier Drogba came second.
The 30-year-old Manchester City midfielder raked in 32% of the votes cast by the country’s journalists, and he was swiftly followed by Drogba with 24% of the votes.
New Swansea City signing, Wilfried Bony, tallied in 17% while Everton’s new arrival, Arouna Kone, came in fourth place.
This is the third time Toure has won the accolade, following successes in 2008 and 2009.
Ivory Coast will play a friendly match against Mexico on Wednesday August 14 at the Metlife Stadium in New Jersey, USA, with the Elephants captain Didier Drogba returning to the fold since he last played with the outfit in February.
