The Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Reverend Gabriel Charles Palmer-Buckle is proposing that Ghana adopts a unity governance system for the next three years, in order to bring down the political tension in the country.
He said whoever the August 29 judgment will favour, should draw members from the losing party to form a government that will steer affairs of the nation until the 2016 General Elections.
The nation awaits the Supreme Court judgment on August 29, 2013, regarding the petition challenging the Electoral Commission's declaration of John Mahama as winner of the December 2012 presidential election.
Most Rev. Palmer-Buckle told Dwaso Nsem on Adom FM Thursday that, parties in the petition could adopt the practise to demonstrate to Ghanaians that they can work together as one people.
Earlier, Dr. Kwabena Adjei, National Chairman for the governing National Democratic Congress asked political parties to eschew the "winner takes all" syndrome from the political space.
Speaking at the 21st Anniversary Celebration of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Dr Kwabena Adjei said the eight months unique Election Petition at the Supreme Court, is enough for parties to begin to work in pursuit of national interest and the time to do away with the "winner takes all" agenda is now.
"We have gone through almost eight months of an experience, a unique experience we have never gone through in this country before and we are awaiting the verdict.
"But even before the verdict comes, I can see what this Supreme Court thing has done for us.
"Let's work towards the definition and pursuance of the national interest.
It is not clear if the proposition by the states men will be adopted after the Election Petition.
