The General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress, (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has applauded the 2012 Presidential Candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, for calling to congratulate President John Mahama on his affirmation as the validly elected president of Ghana.
Speaking Friday on Adom FM’s “Dwaso Nsem” Morning Show, Asiedu Nketia said Nana Akufo-Addo deserve to be congratulated for endorsing democracy.
Minutes after the Supreme Court announced a verdict Thursday, dismissing the petition, Nana Akufo-Addo, the first petitioner, called President Mahama on phone, to congratulate him and accepted defeat in the 2012 presidential election.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia has however cautioned jubilant sympathizers of governing National Democratic Congress to be moderate with their celebrations.
