Ola Girls’ Senior High will once again have to rely on the results from other contests to secure a qualification to the one-eighth stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz.
The Ho-based school failed to defeat Central Region’s Edinaman Senior High in Thursday’s first contest and must wait to be counted among the 18-high-scoring losing schools.
Edinaman on their part have booked their spot in the next stage after finishing the contest with 45 points.

The Central Region school has defended their brilliant performance from the regional qualifiers. They scored 54 points to bring them to the prelims, same tally as giants, St. Augustine’s College.
They now have to sharpen all blunt edges for the next challenge, facing a seeded school at the knock-out stage.
The progression of Ola, even if they make it to the one-eighth stage, cannot be called as they would be facing a seeded school plus a school that won their contest.
Ahantaman Girls’ SHS who were also part of the contest barely survived the heat of the two leading schools and ended the contest with just 20 points.
With the tallies of the current 18 high-scoring-losing schools, Ahantaman is already out.
