A powerhouse from the Upper West Region, St Francis Xavier Junior Seminary and SHS has been defeated in the ongoing National Science and Quiz (NSMQ) by Kumasi Academy.
A force on their own, Kumasi Academy, grabbed a Round One lead and held on to it throughout the contest.

It was not surprising the Ashanti Regional capital-based school made St. Francis Xavier sweat, as they scored the third highest tally (70 points) during the regional qualifiers.
After the five-round contest, the two school’s battle for supremacy left Anlo Afiadenyigba SHS gasping for breath as they placed last and were eliminated from the contest.
The final scores was: Kumasi Academy: 45pts, St. Francis Xavier Jnr Sem: 32pts and Anlo-Afiadenyigba SHS: 16pts.
St. Francis Xavier has lost this tie but there is a window which allows 18 losing schools with the highest tally to progress.

With 32 points, they are in a strong position to proceed.
