The Zabzugu District Assembly in the Northern Region on Tuesday September 10, confirmed Mr Issifu Alidu Laa-Bandoo as the Chief Executive of the District.
Mr Laa-Bandoo secured 17 votes, representing 71% of the total 24 votes cast.
Seven members of the assembly voted against him in the election which supervised by officials from the Electoral Commission.
Mr Bede Ziedeng, Northern Regional Minister, some Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), including chiefs and people of the district witnessed the event held at the Assembly’s hall.
Mr Laa-Bandoo asked for cooperation from Assembly Members and all stakeholders to successfully steer the affairs of the district.
He assured people of the district that he would not discriminate in the administration of the district and thanked all especially the assembly members for their support.
Prior to casting the confirmation votes, Mr Ziedeng appealed to the Assembly Members to emulate the examples of other districts in the region by confirming Mr Laa-Bandoo.
He said Mr Laa-Bandoo was trustworthy and capable of delivering the President’s promise to the people of the district, hence his nomination.
Until his confirmation, Mr Laa-Bandoo was the Coordinator of the National Service Scheme at the Bunkpurugu District.
