Former Argentina international Diego Maradona says he desires to manage Serie A side Napoli, where he once represented.

Though Napoli are currently enjoying a stellar season under the tutelage of Rafa Benitez, but that has not stopped the man from Buenos Aires from voicing his desire to take over at the club which he won the Scudetto with as a player in 1987 and 1990.

Change

-Coaches are changing all over the place, from Spain to Italy, England to Russia, he explained to NDTV Sports.

-But there are people who are afraid of me. That's why I'm not coaching.

Despite his relatively thin resume the outspoken former second striker was adamant about landing the job in Naples, insisting: -When Benitez leaves I would like to take over at Napoli.

The former Barcelona player had previously been barred from working in Italy due to a tax evasion scandal, but the 52-year-old has now made peace with the authorities and is welcome to live and work in the country once more.

Experience

The former Argentina coach does not have a wealth of experience as a tactician, and has found it difficult to land a coaching job since Dubai outfit, Al Wasl, terminated his contract in 2012 after the club's poor performance in their national league.
