Egyptian authorities have agreed to allow the maximum number of 30000 supporters attend next month’s World Cup qualifying playoff against Ghana, says the FA spokesman.
Egypt host Ghana in the second leg of the final qualifying phase, with the Black Stars in pole position to go through following a thumping 6-1 win in Kumasi.
“The ministry of defense informed us with their approval to allow in 30000 supporters at the Air Defense Stadium,” FA spokesman Azmi Megahed told FilGoal.com
The announcement comes despite protests from the Ghanaians against staging the match in Cairo with the presence of home fans for security reasons.
Egypt played one game in the presence of their supporters during the past two years; a 2-1 home victory over Zimbabwe at Alexandria’s Army Stadium back in March.
