Former France international Youri Djorkaeff has revealed that he has been in talks with Ligue 1 side Monaco and Serie A club Inter Milan.

The 45-year-old World Cup winner currently spends his time equally between his native Lyon and the United States where he finished his professional playing career with the New York Red Bulls in 2006, and earlier this month the former forward revealed that he came very close to becoming Les Rouge et Blanc's sporting director.

"It's true I almost played a role at Monaco," Djorkaeff told Journal du Dimanche. "But the matter was complicated."

"It was to be sporting director, but the new owner arrived with his team, and I didn't really see where my place would be."

"But if they want to talk to me, I am willing to listen."

A few weeks on since those comments and the 45-year-old has now revealed that he has not only remained in contact with the Principality outfit but has also been in talks with Serie A's Inter.

The former Monaco attacker told RMC: "I have had some contact with AS Monaco [earlier in the year], and I'm still talking with them.

"But each thing in its own time," he added guardedly.

"I had discussions with Inter Milan last year. As of April, I'll be clearer in knowing what I'm going to do."
