Germany have sent former national team goalkeeper Bodo Illgner to spy some of the key players in the Ghana Premier League, according to reports.

The former Real Madrid safest pair of hands has been tasked to monitor players plying their trade in Ghana, especially the Local Black Stars players who are likely to make it to the final squad for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil next year.

The 46-year-old will touch down in Ghana Tuesday and will base in Alisa hotel.

With six months before the tournament in Brazil, the German national team has plunged into serious preparation to plot the defeat of Ghana at the World Cup for the second time.

Ghana lost to Germany in the last World Cup courtesy of a Mesut Ozil strike.
