Ghanaian Born former German International, Gerald Asamoah has backed the Black Stars of Ghana to put up a sterling performance when the mundial starts in Brazil later this year.
Asamoah enjoyed his playing time with the German national team at the 2002 FIFA World Cup co-hosted by Japan and Korea.
The burly striker had romance with German giants, Hannover 96, FC St.Pauli, Schalke 04 and second tie side Greuther Furth.
Asamoah however admits that Ghana finds itself in a tough group but remains hopeful the Stars will sail through with the right mental attitude and preparation.
“Ghana finds itself in a tough group but I believe with the right mental attitude, the Black Stars will do well”. Asamoah said.
“We have beaten the USA twice and they will not want to be beaten again and Germany and Portugal are in good shape so its a strong group but Ghana will do well with right preparation”. He added
Ghana is in Group G alongside old foes, the USA, Germany and high flying Portugal for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
