Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Monday urged members to demonstrate unity of purpose, eschew internal wrangling and tackle the diverse problems facing the party.
He thanked delegates and other party faithful for the confidence reposed in him to lead the party towards an overwhelming victory in the impending general election.
Nana Akufo-Addo was addressing constituency executives and supporters of the party drawn from all the districts and municipalities in the Brong-Ahafo Region at Abesim, near Sunyani to thank them for their cohesion during the just ended congress.
He said the NPP was one family under a great 'elephant' and that it was important to promote and maintain the Danguah-Busia ideologies to enhance the growth and development of the party.
Nana Akufo-Addo said the party hierarchy intended to set up a taskforce to manage the relationship between government and the party so that whilst development went on the party would also grow rapidly.
He urged constituency executives to put strategies in place towards the registration exercise in March and that the other former aspirants would rally solidly behind him to ensure a landslide victory in the elections.
Dr. Yaw Osafo-Maafo, a former presidential aspirant of NPP, said the party was poised to capture all the 28 seats in the region.
He advised members of the party to ensure a united front, undertake a massive electioneering campaign devoid of insults to woo more people to join the party.
"We want to face the NDC united" Dr. Osafo-Maafo said and advised members to work hard to protect, promote and preserve the party.
