The British High Commissioner to Ghana has held a Veteran’s Remembrance luncheon at his residence in Accra on Monday.
Mr Iain Walker held the luncheon following the 74th Ghanaian National Parade of Remembrance which was held at the Commonwealth War Cemetery in Accra.
The luncheon was attended by Defence Minister, Dominic Nitiwul as well as leaders and representatives of the Commonwealth in the First and Second World wars.
The event paid tribute to all those who put aside cultural and national differences to serve and sacrifice for the Commonwealth.
This year’s 101st Remembrance Day celebration holds a central place in the Commonwealth’s annual calendar of events.
In a press statement, dated November 11, 2019, the British High Commission stated the day seeks to remember the fallen soldiers and celebrate members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.
