The Convention's Peoples Party (CPP), on Saturday outlined modern electioneering and organisational mechanism to attract credible personalities to contest the party’s parliamentary primaries throughout the country.
Mr. Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, CPP General Secretary told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that the Central Committee of the party would provide details timetable, which would take into consideration qualification criteria.
He said all regional and constituency Executives have been tasked to identify and woo notable personalities to contest on the ticket of the CPP.
“CPP have credible, popular and resourceful personalities who are seating on the fence, they only need encouragement, support and assurance to come to the main stream politicking to stand for election,” Mr Greenstreet stated.
The CPP General Secretary said, "All strategic steps would be taken to ensure the creation of a level playing field for parliamentary aspirants to contest for the seat and also to prove Nkrumaists’ democratic credentials to the world."
Mr. Greenstreet, the CPP leadership would support fully efforts of the Regional and Constituency Executives to make the party vibrant, competitive and strong in all ways possible.
He urged all supporters to move out there and start the organisation of the party from the ward through the regional to complement the effort of the national executives.
He said the intra-party politicking was over, “we need the contribution of all, including those who contested for various positions during our recent congress to come onboard the Election 2008 Campaign Team.
Mr. Greenstreet said the Election 2008 Campaign Team have room for everybody, adding, “your contribution is needed to liberate Ghana once again…Ghanaians are calling on CPP to lead the country into economic independence, we cannot fail.”
