The Bole/Bamboi constituency executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have called on the national executives of the party to reopen parliamentary nominations for the constituency.
At press conference at Bole on Tuesday, Mohammed Alpha, constituency chairman, explained that the measure was necessary because Madam Elizabeth Salamatu Forgor, the former District Chief Executive, the only nominee, had been sacked from office and that had tarnished her image.
The constituency chairman said the NPP needed a marketable candidate to start working for victory in the 2008 Election.
He lamented that last year, the issue was pursued up to the party headquarters in Accra to no avail and advised the national executives against the imposition of a candidate on the party members since the NPP was a democratic party.
