Week 6 of the Ghana Women’s League kicked off with Northern Ladies tormenting Supreme Ladies on Friday whereas Hasaacas Ladies ascended to lead the southern zone league table with Prisons Ladies stretching their northern zone lead with five points.
Northern Ladies pummeled Supreme ladies 6-0 to climb up to the fourth position on the league table. Jafara Rahama kept her impressive form running after her hat trick on Friday to increase her tally to six goals in six matches.
Hasaacas Ladies became southern zone table leaders after defeating Sea Lions 3-0 at the Essipong stadium. Milot Pokuaa scored her ninth goal of the season before goals from Doris Boaduwaa and Janet Egyir gave the home team all three points.
Prisons Ladies stretched their lead at the top of the northern zone after a 4-1 victory on the road against Fabulous Ladies. Helena Obeng was player of the match after grabbing a brace for the league leaders.
The honeymoon ended for Ampem Darkoa Ladies after Sunday’s 3-3 draw against Pearl Pia ladies at home. The result meant Ampem Darkoa maintain their second position with the highest goals of 21 in the northern zone while Pearl Pia Ladies remain third.
A dramatic 77th-minute strike from substitute Mary Berko saw Police Ladies draw 1-1 with southern zone leaders Soccer Intellectuals at the Mcdan town Park. The service ladies are still unbeaten but with consecutive draws.
Gifty Boakye’s brace helped Lady Strikers share the points with Samaria ladies at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium.
Adwoa Bayo who ended her hiatus from football was awarded player of the match after inspiring Immigration Ladies to come back from 3 goals down to grab their second draw in six matches when they faced Halifax ladies at the McDan La town park.
Ashtown Ladies and Kumasi Sports Academy played out to a goalless draw at the Paa Joe Park. Kumasi Sports Academy dropped to fifth with Ashtown leaders sitting in seventh place with just two points.
