Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has denied news on the internet that he died on Friday, February 01, 2008 in South Africa after undergoing a successful surgery.
Speaking to Joy News' Evans Mensah on the phone from his hotel room in South Africa, Prof. Mills said it was unfortunate that some individuals could peddle such negative information about him.
According him, there were problems confronting the nation that people ought to channel their energies at finding solutions to instead of spreading vile information about people.
He described as unfortunate, the fact that children were being taught how to lie.
A story posted on Ghanaweb, a news site on Ghana sent caused some stir among NDC supporters and some concerned Ghanaians.
Meanwhile, there are ongoing debates about Prof. Mills' health status and whether he is fit enough for the grueling campaign for power in the December 2008 elections.
