Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has contacted Milovan Rajevac to play an advisory role for the Black Stars team at the 2014 World Cup, GHANAsoccernet.com reports.
The Black Stars coach is said to have met his predecessor to discuss the possibility of playing an advisory role for his technical team for June’s World Cup in Brazil.
Rajevac who is currently out of work has told confidantes he is considering the offer from coach Kwesi Appiah.
The Serbian coach was spotted in the stands during Ghana’s 1-0 loss to Montenegro in the international friendly played in Podgorica on Wednesday.
A meeting between the Black Stars coach and his former boss was said to have taken place earlier in an unnamed location where Appiah is said to have made the offer.
Appiah, who will be leading the Black Stars to the 2014 World Cup took the initiative to speak with the Serbian trainer in his bid to strengthen his technical team before the tournament.
Rajevac remains hugely popular amongst Ghanaians during his impressive reign as coach of the Black Stars where he led the side to the finals of the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations and almost guided Ghana to a historic semi-final place at the last World Cup in South Africa – during which time Kwesi Appiah was his assistant.
The ex-Qatar coach is noted as a tactical genius for transforming the Black Stars into an almost unbeatable force during his two-year reign from 2008.
The Ghana FA will review the situation once Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is able to convince his former boss to return to the side in an advisory role for the 2014 World Cup.
Ghana is determined to make a stronger impact in the upcoming World Cup in Brazil where they are drawn in Group G alongside Germany, Portugal, and the USA.
