Mr Adamu Dramani, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Bawku Central on Saturday, has cautioned some members of Parliament and opinion leaders against making inflammatory statements on the situation in Bawku.
He explained that such utterances could easily cause more trouble as people in conflict situations were likely to get angry on hearing things they do not agree to.
Mr Dramani said this when he met the Press in Bawku.
“This is not the time to start pointing accusing fingers, our greatest concern now is the security situation and its effect on the development of the area”, he said.
He noted that Bawku had always been a busy vibrant town but that development would be affected if the conflict continued.
Mr Dramani appealed to all the elders and opinion leaders irrespective of their tribe or political party affiliation, to talk with the youth to stop fighting and provoking each other.
He said the present situation where people were not free to go about their business freely and could not visit certain areas because such places were considered strong holds of one tribe or the other was not the best.
