A labourer resident at Funko near Takoradi, Papa Kwesi Ansah on Monday, February 18, 2008 appeared before a Sekondi District Magistrate's Court for allegedly defrauding by false pretences.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded to re-appear on February 25 this year.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Eben Darko, said sometime in May last year, the accused collected GH¢35 from Cynthia Zorve, a seamstress at Shama to supply her with four crates of coca cola soft drink .
He said the accused failed to supply the drinks and vanished into thin air and all efforts to trace him proved abortive.
Chief Inspector Darko said on November 19 last, Cynthia visited the Shama Police Station and met the accused there.
He said Cynthia identified the accused, who denied the offence in his caution statement to the Police, but after further investigations, the accused was charged with the offence.Source: GNA
