Brazilian Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Irene Vida Gala, has revealed that her embassy is yet to issue out visas for interested applicants who would want to witness the greatest soccer event in the world, the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
With just three months to the event, Madam Gala has advised all interested applicants to be proactive in their bid to successfully secure visas for the 20th edition of the World Cup.
“I think that Ghanaians who may be thinking of going to Brazil should immediately start actions considering the short time available,” she said.
“If I have 4000 visas to give within the last two weeks to the tournament, I will not be able to do that due to the delay on the part of the consumers and that would create problems.
“Prepare as soon as possible to present your visas because we’re making it very easy but we can’t do everything in a matter of two or three weeks.
Her Excellency Irene Vida Gala also revealed that visas to her country are free should one hold a World Cup match ticket and as a result her outfit has not issued visa to any Ghanaian fan yet .
“It’s very easy to get visas once a person has secured tickets for matches because the ticket allows you to get a visa. The main concerns for Ghanaians should be to get match tickets and once that is done, you can easily go the visas for the World Cup which are free.
“I haven’t yet given any visas for the World Cup with the exception of those who are going ahead of time to work or to do some kind of early preparations,” she said.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup runs from the 12th of June to the 13th of July.
